Carpet Cleaning Technicians
The Carpet Cleaning Technician course makes sure you achieve an understanding of fiber types and sources, fiber identification, the difference in soil types and the chemistry of removing those soils. Also covers pre-inspection, qualifying the job and cleaning procedures as well as carpet construction and proper installation. The advantages and disadvantages of the five basic types of carpet cleaning will be discussed along with spot removal techniques from any substances, including dye change and latent spots.
Fire & Smoke Restoration
The Fire & Smoke Restoration Technician course concentrates on technical procedure for successfully completing the restoration and smoke damaged environment. Students will learn how to combine technical procedures with a practical approach to managing the job site and how that relates to pricing the job.
Leather Cleaning Technician
The Leather Cleaning Technician course covers fibers and identification, fabric construction and styles, soil cleaning chemistry methods, pre-testing and problem prevention, use of chemical in spotting, and after-cleaning treatments. There will be hands-on training during the course as well as a course review & examination
Odor Control Technician
The Odor Control Technician course covers olfaction and odor, odor sources, detection process, theory of odor control, equipment, chemical options and applications. The student will learn how to address odors caused from biological sources such as decomposition, urine contamination, and mold, combustion sources such as fire and smoke damage, and chemical sources such as fuel oil spills or volatile organic chemicals.
Upholstery & Cleaning Technician
The Upholstery & Fabric Cleaning Technician course covers fibers and identification, fabric construction and styles, soil cleaning chemistry methods, pre-testing and problem prevention, use of chemical in spotting, and after-cleaning treatments. There will be hands-on training during the course as well as a course review & examination.

Jim Thomas has been in the cleaning and restoration industry for over 18 years, 12 of which was in the field. He is an IICRC Master Cleaner and Master Restorer and for many years he owned and operated his own cleaning and restoration business. Jim has been on the distribution side of the industry and brings with him a broad range of expertise in carpet and restoration products and services
Jim’s experience with a high volume West Coast cleaning and restoration business continues to be valued resource for new and seasoned cleaning professionals alike. As a professional educator his passion and belief in training makes his instruction constantly in demand across North America.
Randy May has been in the cleaning and maintenance industry for 20 years with strong involvement in education, sales and product development. He has his British Columbia Instructor Diploma and was an Instructor and Department Head of the Building Service Worker Program at Vancouver Community College.
Randy May owned and operated his own contract cleaning company as well as managed the housekeeping department of a major Vancouver hospital. Randy brings his years of industry experience, training expertise and enthusiasm to every program he teaches
